Greg Abbott Announces Good News For Texas Parents

    2023-06-13

Governor Greg Abbott has announced new legislation that benefits Texas parents...

"Parents deserve access to curriculum, school libraries, and what their children are taught," said Texas Governor Greg Abbott. "I signed four bills to deliver on that promise. A great start, but there is more work to be done."

Here Are The Details Of The Bills That Greg Abbott Recently Signed.

The bills that Governor Greg Abbott recently signed will give parents access to course curriculum, allow parents to determine if their child should repeat a grade level, remove inappropriate books from school libraries, and support students with special needs.

"I will sign four bills into law that grant parents more rights in the education of their children," said Governor Abbott before signing the bills. "One of those bills transforms school curriculum, improving it for Texas parents, students, and teachers. We will empower parents of students with special needs with the tools and resources they need to provide their child with the best education. I will also sign a law where parents—not school administrators—have the option to determine whether it’s in the child’s best interest to repeat a grade level. Additionally, parents deserve to know what books are in school libraries."

Greg Abbott Wants To Improve The Texas Education System.

Governor Greg Abbott recently extended virtual education options for Texas students. "Texas wants to see all of our children succeed and receive the best education possible," said Governor Abbott. "Many parents across our state have found that the best fit for their child's education is through through virtual instruction."

"I am directing the Texas Education Agency to ensure thousands of Texas students enrolled in virtual school programs can continue to receive the education that best fits their needs until a more permanent solution is adopted during the next regular legislative session in 2025."

We as Texans could not ask for a better governor. Just wish he would do more for the teachers who are severely hurting right now. Not all the teachers have woke agendas but it seems they are all being put in that category. Hopefully he can listen to the unwoke group of teachers.
