Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Makes Huge Announcement

    2023-06-20

Governor Ron DeSantis recently made a big announcement about border security in Texas...

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida teams have made contact with over 10,000 undocumented migrants during their deployment on the southern border. "This is not a problem that only affects border counties," said Ron DeSantis. "We believe this is a crisis. Not only a border crisis... but an American crisis."

"We've been hearing about this problem for many years," said Ron DeSantis. "But it's probably as bad as it's ever been right now. If you're the President, you'd think you'd take a sense of pride in ensuring the territorial integrity of your country is actually respected. If that wasn't the case, you'd need to do something about it. But instead, we've seen two and a half years of disaster upon disaster."

It's important to note that President Biden has taken steps to improve border security in Texas, Arizona, and California. "The Biden Administration has also put in place new measures to enhance security at the border and reduce the number of individuals crossing unlawfully between ports of entry while expanding and expediting legal pathways for orderly migration," per a statement from The White House. "The President also outlined new consequences for those who fail to use these new legal pathways."

"We should all recognize that as long as America is the land of freedom and opportunity," said President Biden in a statement. "People are going to try to come here. And that’s what many of our ancestors did, and it’s no surprise that it’s happening again. We can’t stop people from making the journey, but we can require them to come here, and they — that they come here in an orderly way under U.S. law."

According to a press release issued by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, over 300 members of the Florida National Guard are currently assisting the Texas Military Department with the mass migration on the southern border. Their mission includes static observation points, roving patrols, and engineer assistance with obstacle improvement.

"Something needs to be done," said Sergeant Yuknavage, a Florida Highway Patrol Officer deployed to the border. "If they (the migrants) get over the wire, we turn them over to border patrol. They'll come across on rafts, swim across, crawl up the bushes, and make their way in if nobody's there."
