Texas Governor Greg Abbott Makes Big Announcement

Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently made a big announcement about the Lone Star State's economy. "The Texas economy continues to grow faster than the nation as a whole," he said. "GDP for the first quarter of 2023 in Texas grew at a 3% annual rate, while the U.S. as a whole grew 2%. Texas remains America’s premier economic destination."

Greg Abbott's announcement comes as Texas was recently named the business state to conduct business in the nation, according to a press release by the Governor's office. "The Texas legend is fueled by leaders, innovators, and trailblazers inspired by the unique freedom and opportunity that only exists in our great state," said Governor Abbott. "With no state income tax, a reasonable regulatory environment, a growing, diverse, and highly skilled workforce, and economic development tools that help support investments, Texas continues to offer something for everyone to thrive."

"When businesses succeed, so do Texans," Governor Abbott continued. "Our business climate ensures that Texas continues to offer world-class educational opportunities, good-paying careers to support families, and endless possibilities to prosper. I look forward to continue to work alongside businesses, economic development teams, and leaders across our state as we keep Texas the best place for business."

In related news about the economy, Governor Greg Abbott is working hard to reduce property taxes for people across Texas. "In Texas, we don't do things half-heartedly," said Governor Abbott. "We go big, and we make sure we accomplish our big vision—that includes delivering the largest property tax cut in the history of our state and expanding education freedom for all Texans."
