Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is on a firing spree.

He's slashing the number of his active staff members, and his campaign is struggling to hit funding targets. DeSantis has only been boasting about campaign contributions until now.

The campaign is ten people lighter, according to an insider.

    The life after Ron DeSantis

The staff members helped with event planning and could soon find their next job at Never Back Down, a pro-DeSantis super-PAC.

Others are entirely switching gears. Dave Abrams and Tucker Obenshain, two senior campaign aides, quit the campaign last week to work with a pro-DeSantis nonprofit organization.

According to sources inside the campaign, the campaign employed too many staff members too soon.

After two months in the presidential race, with DeSantis still trailing Trump by a significant margin, more changes within the race are anticipated in the upcoming weeks.

Even in the governor's state of Florida, Trump still leads DeSantis by 20 points.

The DeSantis campaign has raised $20 million since beginning its presidential campaign, but more than one-third of the contributions came in the first ten days of its existence.

Financial fundraising data also reveals that DeSantis' campaign has relied heavily on wealthy donors who have already given an individual candidate the maximum amount of money.

His campaign has invested in fundraising and payroll for 90 employees.

DeSantis came under fire following an inquiry that revealed numerous veterans had left and had complained of abuse during Florida's state guard training, likening the program to a militia for the civilian disaster response force.

The governor reinstated the State Guard in 2022 after over 70 years of being inactive. State Guard was last operational at the end of World War II.

What do you think about the DeSantis campaign lately?
