The Next Stop Is the Garden Island

I’ve been to Garden Island Barbecue & Chinese Restaurant many times. They serve many of the island favorites. You can either order a la carte or a plate lunch. I usually go there with family and out-of-town guests. Here are a few items on the list.

• Chinese Roast Pork
• Chicken with mixed vegetables
• Fried Saimin or Noodles
• Fried Rice
• Garlic Eggplant

There are many more on the menu. But the garlic eggplant is delicious. I’ve never had to wait to be seated, but if the place is packed and busy, I order take-out at the counter.

I’ve reviewed some of Oahu’s eateries, but my following several eateries will be from the neighboring islands. This piece is for eateries on the Garden Island. The last time I checked the population on Kauai, it was about 52,000 when I grew up there. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the current population of Kauai is about 73,810.

Just like on Oahu, there are many eateries on the island. Another place I mentioned in a previous piece is the Tip Top Motel, Cafe, & Bakery. They are open every day for breakfast and lunch except on Mondays.
