Festivals and Fairs All Over Western Washington in August

    2023-08-05

It's currently Seafair weekend, with the signature and iconic hydroplane races on Lake Washington, but the festivities began in July and continue into September. We take Seafair seriously. While there are community events associated with Seafair, like Celebrate Shoreline and the Cajun Food & Music Fest, there are also a lot of festivals and fairs taking place in communities all over Western Washington that aren't linked to Seafair. You don’t have to look far to find some fun. https://www.seafair.org/community-events

    8/10-8/13 – Morton Loggers Jubilee

Arguably the biggest and best logging show around, the Jubilee has been going strong for 80 years. A parade, lawnmower races, coronation, flea market, and lots of food just scratches the surface. The logging shows are what makes this festival really special.

    8/12 – Celebrate Woodinville Festival

Start this day-long festival with a pancake breakfast, watch the parade and the basset bash, then take in the many activities of the festival and fair. Listen to music and shop at the Woodinville Farmers Market. There’s enough for a whole day here.

    8/12 – Glass Fest Northwest

The Museum of Glass in Tacoma sponsors this festival of all things glass. Enjoy food, music, glass art, and live demonstrations of glassmaking. Entrance to the museum is free during the festival.

8/12-8/13 – The Festival at Mt. Si

This North Bend festival is a big one, with a parade, fireworks on Saturday night, a chili cook-off, pickleball tournament, activities for kids, music, and much more.

    8/12-8/13 – Coupeville Arts & Crafts Festival

Some of the best Pacific Northwest artists and craftspeople show up for this long-running festival on Whidbey Island. There’s a juried art show, tons of booths, and plenty of food.

8/13 – Kirkland Waterfront Car Show

With a very large variety of vehicles on display, this is a big car show with lots of award categories, food vendors and much more.

    8/18-8/19 – Chief Seattle Days

Put on by the Suquamish Tribe, this large Native American celebration takes place in Suquamish and Poulsbo and features many fun events, including a salmon bake, canoe races, games and tournaments, music, a fun run, and an elders walk.

    8/18-8/19 – Snoqualmie Days

This festival celebrates the people and communities of the Snoqualmie Valley, and includes a grand parade, train rides, food, music, and more.

8/25-8/26 – South Sound Block Party

Held in Olympia, this festival is all about the music, but there will be food, games, and a beer garden for the over 21 crowd. A single day pass is $40 and a weekend pass is $75.

8/25-8/27 - Washington State Garlic Fest

It takes three days to celebrate garlic at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds in Centralia. You’ll find food, garlic farmers, artisans and more, and tickets will only set you back $5 for the day or $10 for the weekend.

8/25-8/27 – Arts in the Garden

The Bellevue Botanical Garden hosts over two dozen artists who create beautiful 3-D garden art for three days. The art is for sale, and there will be food trucks on site. Entry is free.
