This annual event, which has been a cherished tradition since 2005, aims to support and uplift our community's children as they embark on a new school year.

On August 5th, 2023, George and Laketha Harris, along with the dedicated team from L & J Harris Kids Foundation, organized a memorable back-to-school event that left a lasting impact on our community. The event wouldn't have been possible without the generous support and collaboration of Brother Mike and Sister Theresa Walton from Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Harris extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Monroe Police Department and Covington, GA Post Office for their invaluable contributions to make this event a resounding success. Their support not only demonstrated their commitment to our community but also helped provide essential resources for children in need.

They would also like to express our deepest appreciation to the numerous volunteers who selflessly gave their time and energy to ensure that every child received the assistance they deserved. Your dedication exemplifies the true spirit of unity and compassion within our community.

Together, they were able to provide school supplies, backpacks, and other necessary items to countless children who otherwise may have struggled at the beginning of this school year. The smiles on their faces were priceless and served as a reminder of how powerful collective action can be in making a difference in young lives.

As L & J Harris Kids Foundation looks towards the future, the board of members remains committed to continuing its mission of empowering children through education.
