Genesee Releases Fall Beers in Summer - Encouraging Consumer Social Media Debate #GennyFallRant

    2023-08-26

This year, fall came early for beer connoisseurs in the Rochester region and other areas where the brand is sold. After years of debating over whether to release these specialty beers only during the fall, Genesee Brewery has opted to put the decision in the hands of consumers. Starting next week, two limited-edition brews, Oktoberfest and Cran Orange Kellerbier, will be available for purchase in NY, OH, PA, NJ, VT, FL, KS, MA, MD, NC, and VA. However, when and how future releases will be handled depends on consumer feedback.

    How to voice your opinion

The Genesee Brewery brand has acknowledged that while some consumers crave the beers at the first of an autumn breeze, others don't mind cracking one open in the dead of the summer heat. Therefore, beer fans can message Genesee directly on X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, or Instagram by replying to @geneseebrewery or using #gennyfallrant.

The company encourages everyone to be as candid as possible and has asserted that all good, bad, and ugly rants are welcome. Also, some of the best, funniest, or most thought-provoking responses may even be featured on Genessee's social media pages.

    Beer Profiles

New to Genesse brand beer? Here are the flavor profiles for each of the mentioned beers:

    • Oktoberfest: This recipe is a "deep-golden lager, big on malt flavor and complimented by subtle herbal notes of noble hops."
    • Cran Orange Kellerbier: Kellerbier is a "natural cranberry and orange flavors (resulting in) a bright, refreshing lager with a perfect addition of cranberry and orange flavors to complement a light malt body."

    Ready to weigh in?

Consumers are encouraged to continue to weigh in on this topic until further notice. Once the company has made a definitive decision, it will announce when it plans to release these fall beers in the future. For now, customers can enjoy the fact that this year's Oktoberfest came a few weeks early.
