    (CHICAGO) There's no doubt, Chicago is home to some amazing museums. The best part, Illinois residents can tour them for free, depending on the day.

    Read on for a complete list of September's free museum days for Illinois residents.

    Adler Planetarium

    Location: 1300 S DuSable Lake Shore Drive

    Enjoy Chicago's Planetarium for free every Wednesday night. Admission is free after 4 PM. Reserve your free tickets here.

    DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center

    Location: 740 E. 56th Place

    The DuSable Museum is home to over 15,000 art and cultural pieces that include paintings, sculptures, print works, and historical memorabilia. Illinois residents can visit the museum for free every Wednesday.

    The Field Museum

    Location: 1400 S. Lake Shore Drive

    The Field Museum has five upcoming free days for Illinois Residents: September 5, 9, 12, 19, and 26. General admission is free on those days. It's a great day to check out a special exhibit for a lower price than on a day you'd have to buy general admission as well.

    Museum of Contemporary Art

    Location: 220 E. Chicago Avenue

    You can check out the Museum of Contemporary Art's inventive displays for free every Tuesday.

    Museum of Science and Industry

    Location: 5700 S. Lake Shore Drive

    The Museum of Science and Industry has announced multiple free days in Illinois, including September 5, 6, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 20, and 26.

    Shedd Aquarium

    Location: 1200 S. Lake Shore Drive

    And finally, visit the penguins, belugas, sting rays, and many more for free on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in September.
