Louisiana Festivals Happening this Weekend: September 21 through September 24

As fall begins, Louisiana is enjoying slightly cooler temperatures and a great calendar of festivals. Here's what's happening this weekend.

Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival - New Iberia - September 21, 22, 23, 24

102 W. Main Street

Get ready for a street fair, a fais-do-do, the Louisiana Sugar Cane parade, a children's parade, the Tractor Parade, the Coronation of Queen Sugar, the Blessing of the Crop, sugar cookery, art exhibits, and so much more at the 80th Annual Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival.

The music begins at 4 PM on Friday with:

Saturday's lineup begins at 11 Am:

Fais-do-do admission is $10 for adults; free for those 10 and under. Ride tickets are $1.25 each, with some rides requiring more than one ticket. Don't miss the Iberia Parish Sugar Cane Festival Art Show 2023, the Sugar Daddy Car Show, the Sugar Cane Festival Flower & Photography Show, and the 2023 Sugar Cane Festival 4-H Livestock Show & Sale.

Alligator Festival - Luling - September 21, 22, 23, 24

13825 River Road

West Bridge Park in St. Charles Parish is the setting for the 42nd Annual Alligator Festival. Guests will enjoy live alligators, 10 bands, carnival rides, Cajun cuisine, craft booths, and more.

It all begins on Thursday night with free entry for locals from 6 PM to 9 PM. Gates are open 6 PM to 11 PM on Friday, 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, and 11 AM to 9 PM on Sunday.

Saturday

• 11 AM to 2 PM Shorts in December
• 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition
• 6 PM to 9 PM. Chase Tyler Band

Fried alligator, alligator sausage, alligator sauce piquant, alligator burgers, alligator egg rolls, alligator poboys, and lots more seafood, entrees, snacks, and drinks will be for sale. Admission is $5 for those over 10 years old. Free for those under.

C.O.Y.C. Hurricane Festival - Cut Off - September 22, 23 & 24

Presented by the Cut Off Youth Center, the annual Hurricane Festival celebrates Louisiana's resilience to storms with carnival rides, live music, crafters, an auction, kids' activities, and delicious foods.

Hero Fest - Houma - September 22, 23 & 24

Terrebonne Parish's first-ever Hero Fest supports First Responders with live music, food, games for children, rides, crafts, and more.

The Hero Fest 5K presented by Terrebonne General Health System happens on Saturday, September 23, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM.

Arts Walk - Thibodaux - September 22

Guests can stroll through downtown Thibodaux on Friday, September 22, from 5 PM to 8 PM to enjoy shopping, dining, and the talents of local artists during the Fall Arts Walk.

Free and open to the public.

Beignet Fest - New Orleans - September 23

Beignet Fest happens on Saturday, September 23, from 10 AM to 6 PM at the New Orleans City Park Festival Grounds. Benefitting kids on the spectrum, the event features fun, sweet treats, food, live music, a Kids' Village, an Artist Market, and a Beer Garden.

General admission for adults is $25 at the gate ($20 online). Children 12 and under are admitted free.
