The Poorest City in Wisconsin has been Revealed

    2023-09-22

A newly released list of the poorest communities in the country has been released from the online finance site known as Insider Monkey.

They have analyzed recent census data including the poverty rate, median household income, and unemployment rate in order to create a list of the poorest cities in each of the 50 states.

The results have been revealed and the poorest city in Wisconsin is Milwaukee with a poverty rate of 23.8% making it the 19th poorest city in the nation.

With a population of 577,222 as of the 2020 census, Milwaukee is the 31st most populous city in the country, the fifth-largest city in the Midwest, and the largest city in the state of Wisconsin.

According to economic policy experts, there are several reasons Milwaukee is one of the poorest cities in the nation.

One point made in the article linked above is that, like most urban areas located in the midwestern United States, Milwaukee never really developed a strong middle class. Instead of creating a business strategy like many other cities, the city created a work strategy. When deindustrialization happened in the 1970s, most residents lost their jobs and only source of income.

It doesn't matter if it's Republican or Democrat . The problem is people don't want to get off they're dead asses and get a job!! No it's just easier to commit.a crime .Keep having babies and sit on the government. There are jobs everywhere there. But heaven help us if our friends see us working at McDonald's or some other place like that. And parents aren't being strict enough and making their kids get an education. Don't blame it on politics. Blame it on yourselfs....
