A Wonderful World, A New Musical About the Life and Loves Of Louis Armstrong Coming to New Orleans

For seven nights beginning on October 1st, the pre-Broadway run of the musical, A Wonderful World, A New Musical About the Life and Loves of Louis Armstrong will be playing at the Saenger Theater, 1111 Canal Street, in New Orleans. Starring Tony Award® winner James Monroe Iglehart in the role of Armstong, the production charts the Jazz legend's journey from his native New Orleans to Chicago through international stardom. When the musical leaves New Orleans, it will get a three-week run at the Cadillac Palace Theater in Chicago before appearing on Broadway.

Told from the perspective of the women in Louis Armstrong's life, A Wonderful World features beloved songs recorded and made popular by the American icon. Acting in the roles of his four wives are Ta'Rea Campbell as Lucille Wilson, Jennie Harney-Fleming as Lil Harden, Brennyn Lark as Alpha Smith, and Khalifa White as Daisy Parker. Stage and screen star, Vanessa Williams, makes her theatrical producing debut in the musical.
