Southern Sawyer County, More Than Meets the Eye

Tucked away in the natural beauty of northern Wisconsin, you’ll find winding trails for ATV and UTV exploration, white powdery snow groomed to perfection for snowmobile pleasure with more than 600 miles of groomed trails interconnecting Sawyer County to Price County, and Price County to Rusk County. The list goes on. Here you will find the Tuscobia State Trail, a 74-mile trail on a former rail corridor is one of the longest rail trails in the state, running from Park Falls Wisconsin to the Wild Rivers State Trail just north of Rice Lake Wisconsin. Also known as the home of lakes and trails, Southern Sawyer County provides four-season recreational opportunities for those that love mud, fishing, and unplugging from the busy world around them.

Nestled in the center of Southern Sawyer County, you will find Bullfrog Resort, located in Radisson Wisconsin. Bullfrog Resort opened their doors on October 15 of 2020. History of Bullfrog Resort

Clark Clark and her husband Bob “BC” Clark spent nearly three decades working hard to build their dreams. Clara, with more than 30 years in management within the county court systems and a few stints in property management and realty companies, meanwhile, BC with vast experience and a wealth of knowledge in Housing and Urban Development maintenance were primed to retire. The next challenge was finding something to do during retirement. BC simply wanted a place to drop his boat near a body of water and avoid the hustle and bustle of towing his boat to the lake every day. They settled on purchasing what is known today as Bullfrog Resort. They closed on the property on August 20, 2020 and got to work polishing the property and priming it for the guests that shared their dreams of spending time on and near the water in northern Wisconsin. Just two months later, they were ready for guests.

The most notable part of this story is that the property had not been a resort for at least thirty (30) years, so it was not a plug and play turnkey property. There were many man hours and much sweat equity that went into making the property what it is today.

    Guests of Bullfrog Resort

The guests that come to enjoy Bullfrog Resort typically are families or larger groups for ATV or Snowmobile getaways. The property is perfect for those that seek a rental for 12+ people with the cabins in close proximity, and the outdoor pavilion. Guests love bringing Clara and BC frog memorabilia once their stay has concluded as a memento and token of their thanks. In turn, Clara and BC have placed these items throughout the resort to really make the theme shine bright with colorful green frogs. Clara states, “We make a game out of it, we ask the kids to find as many frogs as they can find tucked away around the property. They can be in trees, in the cabins, on the dock, and they just love it.”

Future plans include utilizing their Fish Farm License and putting a small fish pond for the children to spend time catching fish. The fish found in this fish pond will include Pan Fish, Perch and Walleye to name a few. Clara thanks TSC Lakefront Restoration for the support and compliance assistance with making this become a reality. Other plans include coordinating and incorporating live music on weekends to continually add to the lineup of offerings while staying at Bullfrog Resort.

    3rd Annual Appreciation Celebration

Everyone is welcome to the 3rd Annual Bullfrog Resort Appreciation Celebration on October 14 from 12PM-4PM. Bring your lawn chairs to Radisson, Wisconsin and enjoy the live music by Rich Schroeder. Come and enjoy the beautiful view of the Flowage and receive horse wagon rides provided by Bittersweet Farms. Grab a bite to eat from the Bomb Dog food truck and come and see what some of the local vendors have to offer.

Clara and BC want to show appreciation for the customers, guests and community for their continued support of Bullfrog Resort.
