House Fire on Holdens Cross Rd, AirCare Requested

Wilson County, North Carolina:

Around 13:30 p.m. (1:25 p.m.) EDT a call from a third party was placed stating that a residential fire was happening on Holdens Cross Rd near Gardener School Rd.

Upon arriving on scene the responding Fire department alerted that the home was engulfed in flames and that they needed EMS immediately as well as a second unit.

Around 13:40 p.m. (1:40 p.m.) the second unit arrived on scene to assist in extinguishing the household fire.

A male patient was confirmed to have sustained a substantial amount of wounds covering his body. AirCare was requested immediately around 13:41 p.m. (1:41 p.m.)

The burned victim is believed to be JR of Holdens Cross Rd.

At 14:10 p.m. (2:10 p.m.) they confirmed for arrival of the helicopter which was North Carolina Air Care N863NC an Airbus Helicopters H135. By 14:37 p.m. (2:37 p.m.) the NC Air Care unit was landing and picking up the suspected burned victim JR.

On scene was the Sanoca Rural Fire District, East Nash Volunteer Fire Department, as well as EMS units 3 and 7. There was a Sheriff who arrived on scene after Fire and EMS. We do not know the units at this time.

Update: Firefighter confirmed JR is deceased at time of arrival to the hospital. Sadly there is evidence of hoarding in his home and the cause is still being investigated Of the fire and is not known at this time.
