Baton Rouge does not consider itself to be the capital of boudin; some people here have probably never even had it. You can get good boudin in the city, however, if you know where to find it.

For all those craving boudin in the capital city, here's a list of locations that can help you get your boudin fix. Note that if you pronounce a hard n at the end of the word, you may not be allowed to have a link.

    Ronnie's Boudin and Cracklin House

    9830 Florida Boulevard

With locations in Baton Rouge and Hammond, Ronnie's Boudin and Cracklin House has boudin, cracklin', boudin balls, crawfish pies, meat pies, specialty meats, sausage, plate lunches, and more.

Open 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday and 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, you can have boudin for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and an appetizer before dinner.

    Jerry Lee's Cajun Foods

    12181 Greenwell Springs Road

Jerry Lee's Cajun Foods sells boudin, cracklin', hog head cheese, sausage, pork skins, beef jerky, and more. You can even buy loose boudin to make your own boudin balls, to stuff chicken, or to serve as rice dressing.

Hours are 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday.

    Boudin Shack

    11693 Nicholson Drive

Baton Rouge's newest home for boudin and cracklin' is Boudin Shack on Nicholson Drive. The menu includes boudin and pepper jack boudin served in links, balls, eggrolls, and wontons. The cracklins are either pork or chicken, and they also carry meat pies, crawfish pies, fried catfish bites, sausage bread, and boudin biscuits in the morning.

Doors are open Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
