(WPBF) — The man who was electrocuted Sunday at Harbourside Place was Jupiter father of four, Nate Davenport, who died saving his two children from an electrified fountain.Sunday afternoon, Davenport, 45, and his three youngest children were at Harbourside Place to play in the splash pad when the children suddenly got into serious trouble.<nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate>“The kids starting screaming: ‘We’re getting shocked — we’re getting shocked,'” said Nate’s mother, Mary Davenport.“And so he rushed in to save them,” she said.Davenport reached in and grabbed his two boys out of the fountain — he and multiple others were shocked trying to help.In all, three children, including Davenport’s eight and 11-year-old sons, along with Davenport and another adult, were rushed to a local trauma center.But Davenport never regained consciousness and died at the hospital — his wife Amy and parents unable to say goodbye.“He took a hit for his kids. We had 45 years with him. God blessed us with him. He’s an amazing man,” said Mary Davenport.The heartbroken family can’t believe he’s gone.<nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate>They all work together at RGD Consulting Engineers, started years ago by Nate’s father, Bob Davenport — Nate eventually became president.A Navy veteran who served in the Iraq War, Davenport loved boating, Sunday breakfast with his parents, and being a dad.“And we obviously know that he did exactly what we would expect him to do. And you know what any father would do, hopefully, but him, especially just his character, that’s what he was,” said brother-on-law Mike Bishop, who also helps run RDG.The family isn’t sure exactly what happened.A Harbourside spokeswoman says the children were shocked not on the splash pad but in the fountain near the stage, which has “no climbing” notices. Police have not released an update.<nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate>But for now, the family is more consumed with their enormous loss.“He’s loyal. He’s a good father. He’s a great husband. He loves Jesus. And yeah, he gave his life for his kids,” said Mary Davenport.She added that support from friends and the community is helping them through this tragic time.“We have been getting so many calls and emails. From clients, from friends, from other contractors, from subcontractors who have just poured their heart out to me to say how much Nate meant to them and how he impacted their life. And so that is the blessing to us,” said Davenport.Davenport said her oldest grandson was expected to be released from the hospital on Tuesday.Both boys are being monitored for elevated enzymes.<nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate>The family was supposed to move into a new house Thursday, and everyone is pitching in, trying to make that happen.Even though their father and husband will be missing.</div></body>
