LEXINGTON, Ky.–A horse farm on Tates Creek Road near Brannon Road could soon be redeveloped into a new subdivision. According to plans filed with the Lexington-Fayette Planning Commission on Friday, Turner Management LLC wants to turn the almost 14 acre George Knight Stables farm property into a 29-unit housing development.

The property is located at 5447 Tates Creek Road near Brannon Crossing on the Jessamine-Fayette county line. The proposed gated community would include nine detached single-family homes and 20 townhomes. The plans call for an existing tree-lined farm road to be converted to a walking path.

so sad. destroying more land for housing that will only be affordable to the wealthy. Wildlife lose their homes, beautiful land destroyed so another corporation can put money in their and the ceo's pocket. Farmland and the beauty of the bluegrass state are what we are known for. We are losing more and more of our farmland to out of state corporations and our local and state politicians don't care. this makes me sad for lexington
