    A tense shooting incident shook southwest Houston on Saturday, leaving both a Houston police officer and a suspect injured in the aftermath of a high-stakes car chase. The Houston Police Department officially confirmed that the altercation took place at approximately 11:20 a.m. at the crossroads of Highway 59 and Chimney Rock, triggering a swift and extensive response from law enforcement.

    The pursuit, which originated on I-610 West Loop in pursuit of a reported stolen vehicle, reached a climax with a crash near Chimney Rock. Subsequently, a rapid exchange of gunfire unfolded, resulting in injuries to both the dedicated police officer and the alleged carjacking suspect. The injured officer was swiftly transported to the Texas Medical Center, where reports indicate a stable condition.
