In the second period, Sidney Crosby scored on a breakaway goal to get the Penguins on the board and with less than a minute to play in the period, Drew O'Connor was set up perfectly by Evgeni Malkin for the tying goal making it a brand new game headed to the 3rd period. Jeff Carter scored his first goal of the season after a give-and-go with Matt Nieto, for the go-ahead goal. Jarry put the game away with his empty netter from the crease. Jarry not only stole the spotlight with his goal, he also made 39 saves in the win. "It's great for him," said head coach Mike Sullivan. "It's very exciting, you don't see that very often, in the game. I know Jarry has had one in Wilkes I believe, but he's never had one in the NHL, so that's exciting. Our bench certainly loved it, they were all fired up.
