Single-Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of Young Bealeton Man

FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Bealeton man on Wednesday.

The crash occurred November 29 on Balls Mill Road near Rockdale Lane, in Midland, according to an emailed VSP media release.

At 10:10 p.m., a 1994 Ford Ranger was traveling south on Balls Mill Rd. when it crossed a double solid yellow centerline, ran off the left side of the roadway, and collided with several trees.

The driver of the truck, Chandler P. Povlsen, 25, of Bealeton, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Virginia State Police provide statewide law enforcement services and work in conjunction with local law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. In major crash scenes and/or crash scenes involving fatalities, the Virginia State Police Accident Reconstruction Team assists troopers with incident investigation and documentation.

The crash remains under investigation.
