(KATU) — The Clark County Sheriff's Office is investigating what it believes to be a murder-suicide in Orchards, northeast of Vancouver, in the 11500 block of Northeast 92nd Street.Investigators believe a man living at the home shot his wife, his brother, his two adult daughters, and then turned the gun on himself.A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said deputies received a call from a concerned family member in Seattle asking law enforcement to check on the house, after they had received a text message from the suspect stating they had harmed others at the residence.Deputies were dispatched to the scene to conduct a welfare check and attempted to contact the people inside, but they were unsuccessful.“They were doing flash bombs and smoke bombs and stuff. They were breaking windows. Medics confirmed they had all died from gunshot wounds.“Once they realize there’s people in there that are deceased, it becomes a crime scene,” said Sgt. Chris Skidmore. “Once they realize there’s no one in there they can save, they will slow that process down and wait for a search warrant signed by a judge.”Skidmore said investigators believe all five people in the home were dead for some time before deputies arrived.
