Breaking News: Traffic Blocked on 215 Freeway After Crash Involving Baby

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - A crash on the 215 freeway this morning has caused significant traffic disruptions.

The incident took place at approximately 8:58 am on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, on Interstate 215 South, just north of the Interstate 10 and 215 Freeway interchange.

According to reports from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved three vehicles, all of which overturned.

One of the vehicles, a Toyota Tacoma, flipped over and landed upside down in the High Occupancy Lane (Carpool). Another vehicle overturned in the interchange lane leading to I-10 East towards Riverside.

Cameras captured the aftermath of the accident on Caltrans freeway cameras, revealing the chaos and congestion caused by the crash.

In a distressing moment, a woman trapped inside one of the overturned vehicles was heard crying for help, pleading with bystanders to assist in the rescue of a baby trapped in the vehicle, according to CHP logs.

Thankfully, the San Bernardino County Fire Department reported that there were no injuries resulting from the crash. However, the incident continues to cause significant disruptions to traffic flow in the area.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. Authorities are working to determine the factors that led to this potentially life-threatening accident.
