Holiday Appetizers: Naughty Jezebel

Sweet and tangy Jezebel Sauce poured over cream cheese and served with crackers has been a staple on Southern appetizer tables since the 1950s, at least. Still holding its own, this slightly spicier version gets its kick from hot sauce.

Ingredients

• One (12-ounce) jar apricot preserves
• One (12-ounce) jar apple jelly
• Two tablespoons Dijon mustard
• One tablespoon horseradish
• One tablespoon hot sauce, of choice

Directions

1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix well.
2. Spoon the sauce over cream cheese or use it as a glaze for ham.

This jazzed-up version of Jezebel Sauce is also delicious as a dip for vegetables, cheese, or breadsticks.
