North Carolina FedEx Driver Attacked by German Shepherds During Christmas Deliver

    2023-12-25
    • Angela Wyche, a FedEx driver in North Carolina, was attacked by two German shepherds while making a delivery, resulting in severe injuries.
    • Wyche suffered wounds on both legs and incurred a hospital bill of $408 for treatment.
    • The incident raises questions about dog owner responsibilities and the legal implications under North Carolina law regarding dangerous dogs.

Angela Wyche, a FedEx delivery driver, experienced a traumatic incident while delivering packages in Carthage, North Carolina.

As she approached a home for delivery, two German shepherds forced their way out and attacked her. Wyche recounted the harrowing experience, describing how each dog aggressively bit her legs, leaving her with severe, bloody wounds.

The aftermath of the attack was not only physical but also financial. Wyche was treated at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, where she incurred a hospital bill of $408. The situation is further complicated as she awaits confirmation on whether the dogs were up-to-date on their vaccinations.

Under North Carolina law, the incident brings to light the legal responsibilities of dog owners. A dog is deemed 'dangerous' if it inflicts severe injury without provocation. In such cases, the owner may be held strictly liable for the damages caused by the dog, without the need to prove owner negligence.

This incident is not isolated. The article references a recent, more tragic event where a young boy, Loyalty Charles Scott, was mauled to death by two dogs in Portland. These incidents underscore the importance of responsible pet ownership and the potential legal consequences of failing to control dangerous animals.

sue the dogs owner. they're liable and should have home owners insurance. the owner should also be fined for their negligence. that is ridiculous. The woman was only trying to do her job. this probably not the first incident.
