Great article! I've done the last stretch of it 35 years ago from the falls down the hanging rock park. it's pretty tough as the trail gets washed out. there's a legend(history) about where the trail actually starts and why. it has been passed down orally in our family. involves Daniel Boone and his son's and Chief Benges sons. The trail actually starts in Kentucky but the main area is high knob. there's a huge rock outcrop on your way up the Norton side to the tower. In a steep curve. Apparently Benges son was killed by Boone on this rock. Chief Benge's sons had killed Boone's sons in Kentucky and they followed them back and ambushed them at this rock. That's the stories I've been told as historically accurate as I can remember it.
