Tiffin, Ohio (WTVG) - Law enforcement officials responded to an urgent call summoning Tiffin Police Officers to the 100 block of Sycamore St. The call reported gunshots penetrating a resident's ceiling and breaching their apartment late Saturday afternoon.

Confirming the report, Tiffin PD swiftly secured the scene and promptly called upon the Black Swamp Emergency Service Unit (BSESU) for further support.

Approximately 40 tense minutes later, five minors voluntarily exited the apartment from where the bullets had originated. Startled officials learned from the minors that an adult male remained inside the building.

Following an additional 30 minutes of intense negotiation, the individual in question agreed to surrender to the BSESU and peacefully vacate the premises. Tiffin Police Officers took charge, transporting the man to Seneca County Jail due to an outstanding arrest warrant. Post-arrest, Tiffin Police meticulously ensured the safety of the apartment and meticulously collected evidence from the scene for further investigation.

This incident served as a testament to the swift and coordinated efforts of law enforcement officials in diffusing a potentially dangerous situation while upholding public safety and securing the premises.
