Sugared Pecans

Sugared pecans make a nice alternative to candy.

These sugared pecans are easy to make and they taste great. They are the perfect sweet addition to a charcuterie board or appetizer table.

Ingredients

• 2 cups pecan halves
• 1 cup brown or white sugar (or 1/2 cup of each)
• 1 egg white, lightly beaten
• pinch of salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 450º F.
2. Grease a baking sheet.
3. Blend together sugar, egg white, and salt.
4. Stir in pecans, and mix well.
5. Spread pecan mixture evenly on baking sheet, or drop by teaspoonfuls.
6. Turn the oven off.
7. Place baking sheet in the oven, and let sit in hot oven for 10 minutes.

These are good hot or at room temperature.
