The City of Philadelphia remains dedicated to addressing and containing the ongoing measles outbreak. As of the latest report, there have been a total of 8 confirmed cases of measles, with no new cases reported. It is worth noting that 93 percent of children in Philadelphia are already vaccinated against measles. However, the Health Department is emphasizing the importance of seeking vaccination for individuals who are unvaccinated to prevent the spread of this highly contagious disease.

For regular updates on the outbreak, residents can visit the City's website, where the Health Department provides the latest information and guidance. Moreover, the Health Department is stepping up its efforts by offering free measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccines at City Health Centers. To receive vaccinations, children in Philadelphia can simply make an appointment through the call center at (215) 685-2933.

To make the vaccine even more accessible, the City is now offering walk-in MMR vaccinations at three City health centers. This service is available for a limited time from Monday to Thursday, during two-time slots: 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment is necessary during these walk-in hours, and there is neither a copay nor a fee for the vaccine. Additionally, individuals do not need to provide proof of identification; a piece of mail with their address will suffice.

The City of Philadelphia is committed to ensuring the health and safety of its residents. By offering free vaccinations and increasing accessibility, they aim to control the measles outbreak effectively.
