Winter Storm Warning Issued for NC and VA

    2024-01-15

Let it snow! NC and VA residents may be seeing their first significant snowfall in nearly 2 years. The most snow accumulating will be in Tazewell and Smyth Counties in VA. Ashe and Watauga Counties in NC will likely see a decent amount of snow as well. Central NC and the Southwest area of VA may see 2-4 inches of snow.

Freezing rain, sleet and a glaze of ice are all possible as this winter storm ramps up around 1am Monday through 7am Tuesday.

Prepare accordingly, and get those snow boots and snow shovels ready. No power outages are expected, but do be prepared for possible ice on powerlines and trees.
