K9 Bond Receives Life-Saving Armor from Vested Interest in K9s

Onslow County, North Carolina:

The Onslow County Sheriff's Office K9 Bond has received a donation of body armor.

Onslow County Sheriff's have received a bullet and stab protective vest, thanks to a charitable donation from the non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

K9 Bond's vest was sponsored by Jason Brehm of Selinsgrove, PA, and embroidered with the sentiment, "Born to Love- Trained to Service- Loyal Always."

Vested Interest in K9's, Inc., was established in 2009 and is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of Law as well as related agencies throughout the United States.

The potentially lifesaving body armor for the four-legged Officers is made in the U.S.A., custom fitted for each K9 Unit, and NIJ certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9's, Inc. has provided over 5,350 vests to K9's in the 50 states at a value of $6.9 million, made possible by private and corporate donations.

The program is open to the U.S.A. and dogs that are at least 20 months of age and actively employed and certified with the law enforcement or related agencies.

k9's with expired vests are also eligible to participate in the program. There are estimated 30,000 K9's throughout the United States, Vested Interest fights to end the unprotected officers.

Vested Interest in K9's, Inc. accepts tax-dedictible contributions in any amount, while a single donation pf $985 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has value of $1800.00 and weighs an average of 4-5 lbs. They do come with five year warranties.
