    Lexington Business Owner Pleads Guilty to $393,998 Wire Fraud Scheme Involving Loans and PPP Funds

    LEXINGTON, Ky.--Prageeth S. Hettiarachchi, owner of ZAH LLC (Kentucky Dancesport Challenge and Ballroom House) and ZAH Investments LLC (ZAH Construction LLC), pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of wire fraud, as stated in his plea agreement.

    Hettiarachchi admitted to engaging in fraudulent activities involving loans and PPP loans. From 2013 to 2018, he unlawfully obtained substantial funds from a client, T.E., and during the COVID-19 pandemic, he obtained four PPP loans using false claims.

    Hettiarachchi's fraudulent actions resulted in unlawful gains totaling $393,998.87, for which he has agreed to pay restitution and forfeiture. Sentencing is scheduled for May 3, 2024.
