Texas Democrats' Varying Stances on Key Issues

There will be early voting in Texas primaries in less than a month. The three most eligible Democratic candidates for the U.S. Senate against Ted Cruz had a discussion this weekend.

Representative of U.S. Colin Allred of Dallas, State Senator Roland Gutierrez of San Antonio, and State Rep. Carl Sherman are the three expected candidates.

Allred placed emphasis on gun control, immigrant issues, and bipartisanship; he also urged Biden to stricter border control. On the other hand, Gutierrez took a more liberal and raucous position on those issues.

"We need someone to stand up for special interests. "We must have universal background checks, we must raise the age to purchase semi-automatic limit high-capacity magazines, enforce red flag laws, and fight to save as many lives as possible as soon as possible. The Second Amendment and who we are as Texas," Allred said.

Gutierrez goes further and calls for a complete ban on attack weapons.

There is often a clash between Allred and Gutierrez on passing the republican laws. Allred calls himself a true bipartisan and opposes the theoretical ideas.

At the same time, Gutierrez talks about two theories of holding the hands of Republicans. He further added his devotion towards the public in the last 18 years.

All three of the Democratic Candidates are in support of passing a national law that safeguards abortion rights.
