Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) is thrilled to announce that the 2024 Philadelphia Polar Plunge, presented by Wawa, will see over 1,000 plungers participate. This exciting two-day event, which will take place on February 9 and 10 at Citizens Bank Park, promises an unforgettable experience.

On February 9, the Plunge will kick off with the Cool Schools Plunge, a friendly fundraising competition among high schools in the Philadelphia region. Participating students will enjoy a complimentary lunch courtesy of The Wawa Foundation.

Later that day, the Business Plunge will offer the opportunity to network with Philadelphia business executives, community leaders, and city officials during an intimate lunch. A minimum fundraising amount of $1,500 is required to attend, and this year's event will feature a keynote address from Lily Seagraves and Matt Cord. Former Phillies player and General Manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. will also take the Plunge. Inspirational SOPA athlete, Roxanne Negron from Philadelphia, will be one of the co-emcees.

The public Plunge will take place on February 10, starting at noon. Attendees can check in and register from 9 a.m. at Lot S in Citizens Bank Park, with free parking available. "Plungegate" activities in Plunge Town, including free hot chocolate and coffee from the Wawa Foundation Coffee Truck, backyard games, food trucks, selfie stations, Coca-Cola product sampling, and a live DJ, will keep participants entertained until the Plunge begins.

These Polar Plunges are held to raise funds for SOPA's sports, health, and leadership programs that serve over 13,000 athletes across the state.
