Petals to Pines Floral named wedding award winner

Petals to Pines Floral, a high-end custom florist located in Otsego at 101 Market, was announced as a winner of the 2024 WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards. This accolade recognizes the top local wedding professionals who demonstrate superiority in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism. Winners are determined by couple reviews on WeddingWire, a wedding vendor directory. The award celebrates top vendors that showcase hard work and outstanding service.

“This is an award we have won in previous years, but COVID has changed wedding work significantly, so we’ve had to restart our approach to meeting brides’ needs post-pandemic. We are providing services for a changing wedding industry. People are holding smaller, more intimate ceremonies at non-traditional venues and times. Yet it’s still the hard work of the designers and their insight that meets the needs of the bridal couple. The designers carry their passion through to their work,” said Marilyn Nathe Specht, owner.

Georgia Edgington, lead designer, said it’s a privilege to work with couples and hear their vision for their special day.

“We get to come alongside them, and using flowers, bring their wedding day to life,” she said.

Edgington, a new recruit to the team from wholesaler Len Busch Roses Inc., is taking the shop in a new, stylistic direction.

“I constantly try to stay ahead of trends and make sure I am leading our team in up-to-date floral approaches,” she said.

Petals to Pines Floral has had other successes this past year. Marilyn Nathe Specht competed in the final round of the Minnesota State Floral Association’s Designer of the Year Competition, and several other shop florists received blue ribbons and top 10 honors.

They look forward to a new season of weddings, and participating in the 2024 Art in Bloom exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
