AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Monday is the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming March 5 primary elections across Texas.

The March 5 election will determine the state's delegates in the Presidential race, along with candidates who will appear on the ballot in November for one of Texas' two U.S. Senate seats, all 38 U.S. House seats, along with a significant number of state and county offices.

Registration deadlines are set 30 days prior to each election. New voters, along with voters who have moved, need to submit an application. Applicants can register in person at their county voter registrar's office, by mail, or online.

In Travis County, voter registration is handled through the Travis County Tax Office . Details can also be found online for Williamson County and Hays County 's elections administrators as well.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the county where they submit their registration application, and be at least 18 years old on the day of the election. Applications submitted by mail must be postmarked by Monday.

For Texas primaries, voters can participate in either party's primary election - but can only participate in one primary per election cycle. This includes any runoff elections for the primaries.

Early voting will begin on Feb. 20; voters can request a ballot by mail through Feb. 23. Election Day is March 5.
