On the weekly Fitness Friday segment of The Rashad Richey Morning Show , Coach Q and his wife, Ms. Nora , discussed the importance of gut health for overall health and well-being and its connection to chronic pain.

According to Coach Q, what we eat is the most significant contributor to our health factor, and individuals can positively impact their health by making proper dietary choices. Chronic pain, including knee, back, and shoulder pain, as well as stomach pain, can be related to poor gut health. Stress management, outdoor exercise, and avoiding smoking, processed food, and excess alcohol are some of the essential tips Ms. Nora gave for improving gut health. Additionally, individuals should incorporate fermented foods into their diet to replenish good microbes in the gut.

Prebiotics and probiotics were also discussed in the segment, with Ms. Nora explaining the difference between prebiotics and probiotics. Prebiotics are nonsoluble fiber that feeds the microbes in the gut, while probiotics are microorganisms that coexist with us in the gut. Proper fiber intake, which comes from a variety of plants, is essential for a healthy gut. Ms. Nora advised against excessive antibiotic use, as antibiotics can get rid of all the good microbes along with the bad ones, causing significant harm to gut health.

Coach Q emphasized that he has seen amazing results in his clients after implementing the gut protocol, which includes frequency therapy and a full gut panel to reduce inflammation and reset the microbiome in the gut. He emphasized that what we eat can contribute to inflammation, and a high salt diet, for example, can lead to inflammation.

Overall, the segment provided valuable insights into the connection between gut health and overall well-being. Individuals can positively impact their health by making proper dietary choices, managing stress, and avoiding smoking, processed food, and excess alcohol.
