BierHaul Townhouse Coming to West Chester

A flourishing Thornton beer house is preparing to bring its uniquely European experience to Chester County. The owner of BierHaul Farmhouse will be opening a sibling concept called BierHaul Townhouse in West Chester this winter, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The bar and restaurant will be opening at 15 North Walnut Street in the space that formerly housed the Split Rail Tavern. The two-story building will provide indoor seating for approximately 200 visitors, while guests with a proclivity for the outdoors can enjoy al fresco dining from April through October.

BierHaul Townhouse owner James Mullally spoke to What Now Philadelphia about introducing his latest concept to Chester County. “I live in West Chester. My wife was born and raised there,” he explains, adding that he hopes the Townhouse will fill a notable void. “There’s a lack of really good, family friendly, group friend, good vibe casual restaurants in West Chester.”

Mullally opened BierHaul Farmhouse less than two years ago. The restauranter explains that while the time between openings is briefer than he initially intended, the elements fell into place. “The building became available, and I have a good relationship with the landlord.” he states. He explains that the success of his first restaurant, as well as the staff he has been working with, made him feel confident enough to make the leap into a second location.

Mullally was born in Ireland, and he is hoping to import the experiences he enjoyed living and traveling across Europe to his present hometown. “It’s a very European style of place.” he says. “It’s a community place to hang, whether it’s with friends or family. A very European experience is what I’m trying to portray. It’s a little of everything.”

BierHaul Townhouse will provide guests with more than delicious food and 22 beers on tap. The establishment will offer brunch on Sundays, and music every Friday and Saturday night upstairs. Mullally intends to have something special and unique planned for each night of the week.
