Sacramento International Airport’s current concession agreements will expire in the coming months, and the airport issued an RFP last July for operators interested in joining the terminals. New Helvetia Brewery is among the handful of local businesses and eateries that received approval from the Sacramento County Board and will join Terminal A later this year.

Sacramento-based New Helvetia Brewery creates craft beer brewed with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The brewery currently has a kitchen and taproom at 1730 Broadway and is fundraising for an innovative brewery co-op.

New Helvetia Brewery, alongside Magpie Cafe and Centro Cocina Mexicana, will replace Iron Horse Tavern in Terminal A’s restaurant-style dining area and the bar. HMSHost will operate the New Helvetia location in the airport terminal as a branded location.

“We believe that our new dining options will offer visitors to the airport a strong sense of place, variety of choices, and culinary experiences that are worth arriving early for,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Tosin Kasali in a prepared statement.

New eateries in Terminal A, including New Helvetia Brewery, will open in phases later this year.
