BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey asked drivers to stay off the roads on Tuesday if at all possible.

This is because of the nor'easter bearing down on the region Tuesday, which is expected to be a messy mix of precipitation in some spots and all snow in others. It will affect commutes in the morning and evening.

"I think it's going to be crazy today, maybe dangerous," said one commuter. Another mentioned his biggest concern is inexperienced drivers out driving during the storm. "With inexperienced drivers, there's going to be a lot of problems because they are in a rush when they shouldn't be," he said.

Forecasters said that although snow is expected to fall in most areas, the southeastern part of the state appears to be bearing the brunt of the storm's impact.

Snow amounts depend on location while coastal flooding is a real possibility with high tides around 2 p.m.

A flash freeze is expected later on Tuesday as temperatures drop.
