    Fuel tanker rear-ended by a semi on 15 freeway in Baker

    BAKER, California -- A fuel tanker traveling on the I-15 freeway was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on Wednesday afternoon.

    The collision was reported at 12:30 pm, on February 13, 2024, on the northbound I-15, near the Baker Blvd. off-ramp.

    According to the California Highway Patrol incident logs, a white and black semi rear-ended the fuel truck and caused debris to go in lanes of traffic.

    Both drivers were able to exit the vehicles and were not injured. Additionally, CHP confirmed there was no leak coming from the tanker.

    The collision resulted in the no.2 lane being blocked for several hours for the investigation.

    The other semi was transporting TVs and liquid sugar weighing approximately 17,000 lbs.

    The cause of the accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol - Barstow station.
