Turian and Miller named Lakeridge High School Athletes of the Week for Feb. 14

Turian is a sophomore on the Lakeridge boys’ varsity swim team, and Miller is a junior on the varsity cheer team.

Bringing their skill to the Pacers in both swim and cheer, this week’s athletes have made an impact on their respective teams this year. Athletes Justin Turian and Makayla Miller have been named Lakeridge High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of February 14th.

Competing in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 backstroke for the boys’ varsity swim team, sophomore Turian has made huge strides this year, according to his coach. “His times are dropping and his leadership in relays is rising. He is making a big impact on our team this year,” his coach said.

Junior and three-year member on the varsity cheer team Miller has become an incredible cheerleader in her time with the team over the years. “[Miller] brings an immense amount of strength to our stunts and is always willing to help fellow teammates,” her coach said. “She easily learns choreography, understands formations, self-teach skills and is an incredible leader. [She] has a wonderful attitude and is a joy to coach!”
