State Route 127 from Tecopa to Baker is now fully open

BAKER, California -- In a significant development, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has successfully completed emergency repair work amounting to $28.1 million on State Route 127 (SR-127). The roadway is now fully reopened to through traffic, bringing relief to commuters who can once again traverse the route.

Contractor crews have been diligently working in the area, undertaking crucial tasks such as clearing, placing shoulder backing, constructing a cut-off wall, installing riprap, and finishing drainage work. The construction activities are strategically confined to the shoulder areas, ensuring that the main roadway is accessible to motorists.

This reopening allows uninterrupted traffic flow from Monday through Friday, between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Importantly, no flagging operations are anticipated during this period unless absolutely necessary for the completion of any remaining repair work. Commuters can now navigate State Route 127 with confidence, as Caltrans focuses on ensuring the safety and resilience of this vital transportation artery.
