A SHOPPER has accused Walmart of scamming their customers after she realized she never got what was promised on the label.

After buying a pack of bacon from the retailer, Heather Lynne Foster immediately noticed that something was wrong.

The self-proclaimed consumer advocate (@heatherlynnefoster) took to TikTok to share that she believed that Walmart falsely labeled how much bacon was in the package.

“Alright, so get a load of this,” she says in the video.

“This is an unopened package of bacon, right? It says that it’s 12 ounces. I picked it up and I was like, hmm, okay, I know these usually come in a pound but I got the 12 ounce instead.

"It was like $4. I was just curious because I know everybody keeps saying that we’re not getting screwed but look at that. That’s with the package.”

She showcased her bacon being measured at not even 8 ounces, despite what the package had claimed.

Foster proceeded to take the packaging off of the bacon to show its true weight.

"Hold on. This is the bacon that just came out. There’s six slices in this thing,” she says.

“Let’s see how much it weighs. It says that it’s 12 ounces, but we saw … it is seven ounces. Mmhmm. So ‘shrinkflation isn’t real,’ and ‘they’re not scamming us.'”

The TikToker was outraged by her discovery.

"These corporations are charging double for groceries and not even giving us what we are paying for," she captioned the video.

Foster went on to suggest in her comment section that she should bring her scale to Walmart to see what other products they could potentially be lying about.

One commenter was shocked to see how little she had got.

"Shrinkflation is when they shrink it from a pound to 12 oz and charge the same, this is even worse than that," a person commented.

Others revealed that they weighed their food and found similar issues.

"Omg!! I bought that same bacon and just weighed it and it was 7 ounces!!" one person claimed.

"I always buy the 10lb of ground beef and separate it into 2lb sections to freeze and I noticed last week that I was short a whole pound," another person commented.

This is not the only time Walmart has been accused of scamming its customers.

In a video, Another TikTok user (@voyage_beauty) claimed their self-checkout kiosk gave her the wrong total.

"I go to pay and it's quite more expensive than I thought it was going to be," she said.

"It said the total was like $76.85, and then I look on the screen, and it said the subtotal was $44.20.

"I was like well, that seems right, but why does that total jump to $76?"

The user calculated the prices herself and realized the amount the kiosk asked for was wrong.

She claimed that she had to argue with the store associate and repackage her items to get the correct total.

"If I wasn't trying to track where I'm spending my money this month, I would have just paid it and walked out the door and not even give it a second thought," she said.
