An organization that feeds children throughout Southwest Florida recently held its first-ever “Get Fed Up” fundraiser. Earlier this month, Blessings in a Backpack of Southwest Florida celebrated 10 years of service at the event.

Supporters helped exceed expectations by raising more than $150,000.

Organization leaders say the overwhelming generosity displayed by attendees underscores the unwavering commitment to combat childhood hunger in Southwest Florida.

Among the distinguished guests were the founding board members and visionaries whose dedication and passion have been instrumental in driving Blessings in a Backpack of Southwest Florida’s success over the past decade. Their presence illuminated the shared vision of ensuring that no child goes hungry in our community.

Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for school-aged children across America who might otherwise go hungry.

The Southwest Florida Chapter feeds more than 8,000 children in Lee, Collier, Hendry, Glades and Charlotte Counties at 33 schools.

“We are profoundly grateful to our supporters, sponsors, and friends who joined us in celebrating a decade of giving at our inaugural fundraiser, ‘Get Fed Up,’” Cecilia St. Arnold, executive director of Blessings in a Backpack of Southwest Florida. “The remarkable outpouring of support underscores our collective commitment to nourishing the lives of children facing food insecurity.”

The funds raised during “Get Fed Up” will enable Blessings in a Backpack to expand its reach and impact, providing essential nutrition to more children in need across Southwest Florida. Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, the organization remains steadfast in its mission to empower children to thrive by addressing hunger barriers.
