Florida Attorney General Opposing the Biden Title IX Plan

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody continues to lead the charge opposing the Biden White House wanting to revamp Title 9 laws.

The federal law created in 1972 amendments bans discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities at institutions that receive federal financial assistance. The Biden administration now wants to include transgender, biological men who now identify as female as part of the protective rights in that law.

The controversy began in 2022 when the Federal Department of Education proposed changing the definition of sex to include “gender identity.” On February 2, the Department of Education sent its plan to the federal Office for Management and Budget for final approval.

The opposition to this move has increased. Not just from Attorney General Ashley Moody, but 25 Republican governors and state attorneys general have called on the Biden administration to withdraw its proposed changes to Title IX.

Also, 23 states have banned gender transitioning among children, 10 states outlawed pronoun mandates, and 23 states enacted laws to protect women’s sports from transgender athletes.

This issue could play a key role in the 2024 election season, especially among candidates running for local school boards.

Voters across the country are not in favor of the “Trans movement.”

A new poll among 1,600 respondents finds most voters support state laws that would require children to wait until age 18 before they can receive transgender treatments: Republicans: 73%; Independents: 71%; and Democrats: 61%.

Other numbers over the last 2 years show a majority of voters are oppose expanding the Biden plan of changing the Title 9 laws that would include biological men to compete in female sports.
