They say the cream always rises to the top, and it is doing so in country music right now.  When you are confident in what you do and who you are as a person, it is much easier to welcome newcomers and competition.  Lainey Wilson is exhibiting those qualities in her latest reaction to the new country music announcements.

As the stories are unfolding, 2024 could be titled, "The Year of Country Music".  Pop stars one after another are hedging their bets on releasing country albums.

Post Malone donned his western attire at the Super Bowl and has made a few duet releases on the country charts. Lana Del Rey announced her upcoming album titled Lasso that will have country-infused sound.  More recently, attracting attention from all side, Beyonce announced that Act II of the Renaissance series will be a country album.

Instead of immediately embracing the idea, many resisted.  Country Music Association's 2023 Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson, didn't even hesitate.

In an interview with Extra , Wilson was classy and welcoming.

"I love it.  The more the merrier.  It (Country Music) is about that storytelling, it's about making people feel at home.  And everybody wants to feel at home."

When asked about the critics, Wilson once again rose the occasion and set a great example for others to follow.

"Everybody is going to have something to say about everything.  I love Beyonce."

It's almost as if Wilson planned the way the year would start out.  Her new single "Country's Cool Again" released on streaming services February 16.

Wilson said she is excited to see how the country music genre is growing and expanding and said that she sees it across the whole industry of the western way of life.  She explained that she is completely drawn to country music because of the storytelling within it.

"It makes you feel like a warm hug when you listen to the stories in the music," Wilson said.  "It's why I fell in love with this music."
