    The Meridian Parks & Recreation group is seeking musicians and vendors for its event on the weekend of the total solar eclipse in April 2024.

    The group is expecting thousands of people to view the eclipse in Bosque County.

    The event called “Texas Twilight Jubilee” aims to give the visitors a warm “Meridian Welcome” and make their stay enjoyable and memorable.

    All the events will be free and open to the public at Chisholm Trail Plaza, Lions Park, and Meridian Park from Friday, April 5, to Sunday, April 7.

    Vendors, artisans, craftsmen, makers, bakers, artists, growers, food trucks, and food vendors are encouraged to apply for spots through the following online form: www.cognitoforms.com / MeridianTexasParks AndRecreation/ TEXASTWILIGHT JUBILEE2024 The submission deadline is Friday, March 15, 2024.

    Happening during the weekend events is the Meridian Alumni Softball Tournament at Yellowjacket Stadium on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

    Tournaments for horseshoes, washers, 3-on-3 basketball, and cornhole are scheduled on Saturday, April 6, from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.

    On Saturday night, the group will show a free family movie “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” at 8:30 p.m. followed by karaoke at 11 p.m.

    On Sunday morning, a sunrise worship service will be led by Pastor Brian Barrett at Chisholm Trail Plaza followed by a pancake breakfast.
