Everyone has an opinion about Beyoncè expanding into Country music and according to the #1 spot she snagged on the Country charts this week — majority seem to be overwhelmingly positive.

Beyoncé became the first Black, female artist ever to snag a number one spot on Country charts this week as “Texas Hold ‘Em” topped  Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Additionally, the song was the most added song at Country radio and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 while her second song, “16 Carriages,” debuted at No. 9, giving her two Top 10 spots.

There’s bound to be even more history made as the 32-time GRAMMY winner will release her very first Country album on March 29 marking her eighth studio LP.

Bey’s switch to Country hasn’t been warmly embraced by all as many seem to be confused by her motivation to switch things up, and question her country “cred.” While speculations fly and haters hate,  Bey’s mom, Tina Knowles says Beyoncè is just returning to her Texas roots.

"When people ask why is Beyoncè wearing cowboy hats? It's really funny, I actually laugh because it's been there since she was a kid,” Knowles said in a recent instagram post. “We went to rodeos every year and my whole family dressed in western fashion. Solange did a whole brilliant Album and Project based on Black Cowboy Culture. It definitely was a part of our culture growing up."

She continued, “We have always celebrated Cowboy Culture growing up in Texas. We also always understood that it was not just about it belonging to White culture only. In Texas there is a huge Black cowboy culture. Why do you think that my kids have integrated it into their fashion and art since the beginning."

While others are busy questioning Beyoncè, others are giving her a warm southern welcome to the genre. One of those people being Lainey Wilson , one of Country’s biggest stars.

"The more the merrier,” Wilson told Extra of making room for Beyonce in the genre. “I'm like, again, it's about that storytelling. It's just about making people feel at home… and everybody wants to feel at home."

She continued, “Everybody is going have something to say about everything. I bet you wouldn't say it to her face," Wilson quipped. "I love Beyoncé."

Beyoncè’s full Country album arrives March 29. Giddy up!
