To celebrate launching her new haircare brand Cécred, Beyoncé shared her haircare regime, so Beyhive, take notes.

Detailing her hair routine during a recent cover story interview for Essence , Beyoncé shared, “It’s all about moisture for me, adding oil to my scalp and covering my hair at night so the oils could penetrate.” Adding, “It brings back such great memories of my rituals as a child to maintain a healthy scalp.”

Beyoncé also shared that she wraps her hair up at night, and that she sometimes sleeps “in some cute rollers with a net or bonnet,” depending on how she’s wearing her hair. Noting these techniques all serve the purpose of trying to “avoid friction, my hair reverting and using unnecessary heat.”

Beyonce’s brand is officially live and available to purchase on cecred.com . The eight-piece Foundation collection includes a Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub ($38) a Hydrating Shampoo ($30), a Moisturizing Deep Conditioner ($38) a Reconstructing Treatment Mask ($42), a Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual ($52 for 4 treatments), a Moisture Sealing Lotion ($38), a Nourishing Hair Oil ($44) and a Ritual Shaking Vessel ($20) which is to be used to mix the fermented rice and rose protein powder.

Inspired by everything, from rituals around the globe, to all she and her mother Tina Knowles (a trained hairdresser and vice chairwoman of Cécred) have learned about hair over the years, things have really come full circle for Beyoncé, who revealed to Essence about how growing up in her mom’s salon helped her realize what she wanted to do with the rest of her life.

“It was in her salon that I realized my dreams of being a performer, because of one her clients who happened to be an opera singer,” Beyoncé revealed. “I distinctly remember telling my mom that I wanted to be just like her client.”

“So much of the fabric of who I am came from her salon,” she continued. It is something that just connects to all of my senses, and it’s a beautiful place to grow up. That’s my foundation — and I think as an artist, so much of my bold experimentation with hair comes from being inspired by art and sculptures; getting creative with braids; figuring out new techniques; and exploring ways to maintain hair growth with protective styles and wigs, while still feeling fabulous.”

Beyoncé also opened up about the beauty of self-care and self-expression. “Black women can wear our hair natural, straight, braids, weaves and wigs. There’s power in self-expression and in feeling free to show up as we choose, in whatever hair we choose,” she said. “For me, joy comes from making myself a priority and making my hair a priority. It is really important for me to make time for the sacred rituals of self-care.”

In another full circle moment, Beyonce is giving back to the industry that led her down the path of becoming the iconic performer she is today. Announcing her public charity foundation BeyGOOD, and just-launched hair care line Cécred, will be jointly funding a $500,000 annual grant for cosmetology schools and salons.

“Hairstylists have an immense impact on the people in their chairs,” the announcement read. “They create a sacred space where we can show up how we want and express ourselves through our hair. We’re honored to give back to this amazing community.”

The fund is set to be dispersed annually across scholarships and salon business grants in five areas including Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and New Jersey, with the specific beauty schools "chosen for their large, diverse community of hair stylists."
