Billie Eilish hints at LP3's arrival: 'My album is mastered'

Billie Eilish basically just informed us that she’s ready to bless us with new music. Taking to social to share the news, Billie shared a series of four balaclava face-covered selfies, captioned with four magical words, “my album is mastered.”

For anyone unfamiliar with the term, in the world of music recording, mastering is the final stage of production before it’s pressed, printed, and distributed. Other than that, the singer hasn’t shared any other details about her impending third LP, including disclosing a potential drop date.

So basically now that Billie has confirmed that the album’s finishing touches have been applied, now we just have to wait.

While Billie’s last album, Happier Than Ever , was released in 2021, it’s not the last time fans have heard Eilish’s ethereal voice. Her tender and thoughtful contribution to the Barbie soundtrack, “What Was I Made For?,” took on a life of its own since its 2023 summer release, collecting nominations for Best Original Song at the upcoming 2024 Oscars, as well as the Golden Globes, as well as Song of the Year at the GRAMMYs, the latter two for which she has already won.

Leading up to this moment, Billie discussed that she was nearing completion on her much-anticipated album during an interview back in September 2023 with The Cookout .

“There is lots of music coming,” Eilish said at the time. “There is a whole album of music coming. We’re in the final stages of making it, so that doesn’t mean it’s about to come out, but it is getting there, and it’s very exciting.”
